Our Trainers

James Nickson (Founder)

My belief and vision for staying fit and healthy long-term is clear and it is that through simple and realistic methods applied to training, nutrition, rest and recovery anyone can lead a healthy balanced life. I am a huge believer in taking a problem solving approach and working hard to get to the bottom of any health and fitness related problems you may have such as a simple lack of motivation or not knowing what foods to eat, . This problem solving approach, coupled with simple and realistic changes in and out of the gym have helped many of my clients in the Frodsham, Runcorn and surrounding area’s, achieve the results they wanted.

In a modern world of information overload it is easy to get overwhelmed by various pieces of advice that are thrown at you without ever actually knowing where to start when trying to improve your health and fitness. The ‘one size fits all’ approach of eat less and move more is sadly outdated, with the quality of what we do being the main focus. Together with all of my clients over the years we have successfully managed fitness planning and training, quality of food intake and clear sleep and rest guidelines.

The thought of managing fitness, a balanced diet and good quality sleep may sound underwhelming and slightly boring, but that’s the point. A huge portion of my personal training service has been delivered to clients over the ages of 40, who often juggle young families, challenging careers and the busiest social lives I have ever come across! Throw an unrealistic exercise plan and a crash diet in the mix and you have the recipe for disaster.

Quality and consistency is a huge part of what we do at Turn Up Training and I look forward to working with you on developing these two areas and helping you live a healthier, happier life.
