Get these in place now, before its too late..

A slight bit of sun and the clocks changing have maybe shifted our focus towards summer, and as always there is an emphasis on being in ‘good shape’, this should apply all year round in my opinion BUT let’s focus on what is ahead, time outside and maybe a holiday.

Now is the time to nail down some really good habits so it’s not too late when summer does come round. First let us talk about being consistent with our step count. Every day, get out there. A simple, free way to help you burn fat, improve your fitness and just generally aid your wellness by being outside. I have preached this many a time and those of you who live in Frodsham this applies to you, get outside and walk to the top of Frodsham hill and back, that hill and the incline it involves is a brilliant challenge and rewarding when seeing the views from the top.

With the added exercise there needs to be good recovery, SLEEP! I’ll tell you my routine which I follow 90% of the time, and it works and gives me a solid foundation for general day to day activity. No screens 30 minutes before bed, go to bed at least 15-20 minutes before you want to be asleep. As well as this I take a magnesium supplement 30 minutes before and it helps massively. The routine I follow is simple yet very beneficial and I suggest you give it a try. Sleep has been proven to aid muscle repair and cognitive functioning as well as many more benefits.

The final piece of these three is hydration and if you don’t have a refillable bottle by your side most of the say you are missing out. Water aids energy, hunger control and brain function. I think my most simple bit of advice with hydration is having a refillable bottle, just having one around increases your chances of drinking more water. Have it sat on your desk at work or in your car.

The above is not rocket science no, but it is the consistency of these simple things that will help you live a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
